Register your biometric information with the UOB BioSmart ID app before 24 February 2025
Register your biometric information quickly, conveniently, and securely with the UOB BioSmart ID app from United Overseas Bank (Vietnam) Limited (“UOB Vietnam” or “UOB”). Complete the process entirely online by simply scanning your ID/Citizen ID card’s NFC and your face.
Instructions to register biometric information with UOB BioSmart ID
Step 1
Scan the QR below to download UOB BioSmart ID app on App Store or Google Play.
Step 2
Open the app & Input your phone number registered with UOB Vietnam to start. Choose ‘Vietnamese’ to continue.
Step 3
Capture images of front and back of ID/Citizen ID Card (collectively referred to as “ID Card”).
For successful captures, ensure there is no flash on the ID Card, all information is visibly clear in frame.
Step 4
Scan NFC on ID Card
Tips for a smooth scanning experience:
- Remove the phone case (if any).
- Follow on-screen instruction to identify NFC reading area on device:
- For Android device: NFC reading area usually from top to middle on the back of device, move ID Card slowly until NFC reading function is activated/ vibrates.
- For iOS device: Place ID Card in the front camera area.
- Keep ID Card and your device still until the information NFC reading is completed.
Step 5
Verify information retrieved from ID card.
Input additional information: old ID number, passport number registered with UOB Vietnam, etc. (if available)
Step 6
Perform liveness check as instructed on screen.
You might have to remove your mask or glasses.
Make sure you are the only one in frame and your face is well lit.
You have completed!

Biometric information registration at UOB Vietnam Branch
- If you are a foreign customer, please bring your passport to a UOB Vietnam branch for support.
- If the device cannot update biometrics, please bring your NFC-enabled ID Card to a UOB Vietnam branch for support.
